The 1992 Prime Minister election took place on November 4, 1992. Incumbent Terry Sanford ran for re-election, his opponents were Bob Dole, former President, then-Senator from Kansas, Hillary Clinton, then First Lady of Arkansas, and Richard Shelby, Senator from Alabama. Sanford won re-election with 47% of the popular vote, Dole came in second-place with 36% of the vote, Clinton came in third, with 10% of the vote, and Shelby came in fourth, with 7% of the vote. As of 2017, this is the last election the Conservative candidate for Prime Minister won Illinois and Virginia.
